I took advantage of the pool for one more long run before heading out tomorrow morning. Since the pool is a luxury I can only enjoy here in Central PA (at least until Hilton Hotels gets it’s act in gear and starts installing them in their fitness centers..), I try to use it while I can and then hit the roads when I am on a trip. 70 minutes this evening made entertaining by watching Tiger Woods win his first PGA event in many moons during my run. I am an unabashed Tiger fan, so hopefully this is a sign of things to come. My pace and energy level was better than yesterday, and the calf felt better for the first time in a while. Good hard massage afterwards of course, focusing on the lower leg. Almost 2.5 hours in the last 2 days – the mileage is one thing, but to be able to get in that much work while still allowing my leg to heal is another. I’ll see how it feels tomorrow, but I’m planning on a low-impact elliptical day in the O’Hare Airport Westin. I’ll have my fingers crossed that by Tuesday I will be back to 100%.
